I am slipping on my “Rose Colored Glasses” because the things I am wanting to say need to have a positive spin despite many of the terrible things that have gone on over the past few weeks and have been going on for years.
One of the podcasts that I listen to did a good job of summarizing. June 6, 2020 – Podcast Code Switch: A Decade of Watching Black People Die The early protest here in Dallas, got a little out of hand, however, the number and the diversity of people involved could not be ignored (Photos). When you see white grandmothers out protesting “Black Lives Matter” in the hot sun, you know the cause is genuine. I am heartened by the support from many corporations and the international community.
Among the protesters, I saw people holding up signs with people’s names on them. Before I jumped on any bandwagon or got on “social media”, I did a little research on some of these people and their stories ( Killings by Law Enforcement ). It was heart-wrenching. It is obvious deadly force has been used without justification on too many occasions.
There is no room for hate whether it be from law enforcement, corporate leaders such as Greg Glassman, or from Federal Agencies who know it is against The Constitution to attack peaceful protesters and whisk them away in unmarked vehicles while wearing unmarked uniforms. I started this email a little over a couple of weeks ago, but the stuff that was going on in Portland just seemed to be ignored by the mainstream press.
I am so thankful that the situation is finally being looked into. However, it is a disgrace that it is being described as only Democrats who are bringing up the concerns. I appreciate Republicans who break party ranks and disagree with the administration.
